Car Insurance BMW (Car Insurance). Whats a good, flashy, fun car that gets good gas mileage for an affordable price? (extra car)?Whats a good, flashy, fun car that gets good gas mileage for an affordable price? (extra car)? I have a great truck that gets a whopping 8 MPG, and a heavily modified 2011 Camaro SS that gets about 17, but I won't take it out in the rain/snow/clouds/drive it downtown/etc. I'd like to get another car to scoot around in, but I want something thats fun/a little flashy and gets decent gas mileage. My budgets pretty low, and I'd like to keep it under 10/12k, although I could go higher if I really wanted to. I'll probably only keep it for a year or two. I was thinking: Porshe Boxster, Pontiac Fiero, Honda CRX, Del Sol, toyota MR2. Any of the cheaper cars (fiero, CRX, etc.) I'll dump a few thousand into. I don't need to haul people or stuff- thats what my truck and car are for. I was also thinking maybe a 350z, 300ZX, 280Z, 3000GT, or an older porsche, but most of them get pretty poor gas mileage. I'm too tall for a Miata or Z3 or something like that. Even the boxster is a stretch, but I talked to a guy who modified his seat and I think I can make it work. Pontiac Fiero Those things are great especially if you get the 1987 or 1988 model. mazdz 3 Audi TT Mercedes SLK Honda civic Nissan 300ZX or the Honda CRX, the Nissan is nicer over all, but the Honda CRX has a rear seat. You could find the Honda cheaper, although personally if it was me, I'd rather be seen in the 300zx. Chevy Camaro is affordable and realy flashy! it will suit you perfectly Auto parts : Voltmeter Acura 1995 . Water Pressure Gauge Alfa Romeo 1996 . Water Temperature Gauge Audi 1997 . Rental car accident afterwards... how to deal with? Rental car accident afterwards... how to deal with? I rented a car from Hertz last winter and was involved in an accident that was my fault unfortunately. However I bought all the "insurance" type stuff Hertz has to offer so after quite a while dealing with cops and stuff then and of course I got my punishment too, I thought everything's settled. The other driver involved had a F150 and was almost intact. Recently I just noticed I've been served with suit papers as the other driver filed with his attorney and tried to claim compensatory and such. I received a notice from Hertz too that I need to report to Hertz with an answer so that they'll deal with it. However I'm a little confused right now and don't know what to do. Am I going to be responsible for anything here, even though I've already bought the insurance and stuff? Should I need to hire a lawyer too or something? Will Hertz pay for all the cost? Does it mean that I'll respond to Hertz and then they'll deal with it for me? car insurance. Auto parts : Ball Joint Scion 1999. Bump Stop Smart 2000. Coil Spring Insulator Sterling 2001. BMW . How to Remove the Smell of Rotten Eggs From Inside a CarPeople often spend a great deal of time in their cars--driving to work, picking up children and going to the store. Foul odors can ruin a car ride, but in most cases these odors are easy to remove. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Bucket Vinegar Wet vac or vacuum cleaner Baking soda Air freshening spray Rag or a sponge Step by Step : 1 Locate the source of the smell. Sometimes food items can be pushed under car seats and forgotten. Rotting food can cause egg smells in the car, so go through the car and remove all trash. Check under the seats and make sure the smell isn't coming from trash. 2 Sprinkle baking soda onto the car's floor mats and carpeted areas. If needed, remove the floor mats and air them out in the sun. Vacuum up the baking soda from the carpets. This will remove bacteria, which can cause odors. 3 Fill a bucket with 1 cup vinegar and 3 cups lukewarm water. Use a rag or sponge to scrub the seat surfaces, as well as the dashboard and door interiors. Make sure all car doors and windows are open to allow proper ventilation. After about 10 minutes, use clean water or a wet-vac to clean the vinegar mixture out of the car. Let the car air dry for an hour. The smell should be gone. 4 Spray an air freshener such as Febreze on all surfaces. As a last attempt to remove the odor, use a spray. Tips & Warnings Clean in a well-ventilated area.
BMW . How to Get Rid of a Sour Milk Smell in a CarIf you have a sour milk smell in your car, it can be a serious distraction while you're driving and for your passengers. This embarrassing situation requires some investigative work to correct. The key is to identify the source and then take proper measures to clean and deodorize the area. Even after you do remove the problem, since your car is an enclosed area, the smell may have permeated the interior, so a thorough cleaning is necessary. Difficulty:Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Vinegar Water Hose Carpet extractor Baking soda Odor-neutralizing spray Step by Step : 1 Open all of your car doors and investigate the interior of your car for the source of the odor. Check under your seats, in your ashtrays, in your glove compartment and in the middle compartment between the seats. It could be an old carton of milk or coffee container under a seat. It could also be a milk spill or coffee spill you never properly cleaned. 2 Concentrate on the source first. If it is a carton of milk or something similar, throw it in the trash. If it's an old spill of milk on the carpet or upholstery, use a carpet extractor to get the stain out. Mix two cups of vinegar to one gallon of water and pour it into the extractor. Vinegar is a natural cleaning and deodorizing agent. Use the extractor on the stain--it will inject moisture into the surface, then pull out the stain and most of the odor with it. 3 Use the carpet extractor to clean the rest of the interior carpet and fabric seats of your car. Use a more diluted solution of about a half cup of vinegar to every one gallon of water in the extractor for the remainder of the car if you want. Be sure to clean all carpet surfaces, including under the seats. Allow the car to air out with the doors still open. 4 Sprinkle the surfaces of your carpet and seats with baking soda. Allow the baking soda to sit and absorb any leftover odors. Vacuum up the excess powder. Spray the interior of the car with an odor-neutralizing spray such as Febreze. Tips & Warnings Don't worry about your car smelling like vinegar. The vinegar smell only lasts for a few hours and goes away after a while. In two-wheel drive, only the driveshaft connected to the rear wheels gets power from the engine, and the front wheels are disengaged. In four-wheel drive, the engine powers all the wheels. Four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicles are different from all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicles in that AWD vehicles send power to all four wheels all the time. AWD vehicles usually employ a center differential to split power from the engine to the front and rear wheels. Well, you've survived the ride on the drive train. As you've probably guessed — especially if you read chapter titles — I'm talking about your brakes. Brake System Basics One reason that today's vehicles are the safest in history is that they're equipped with hydraulic brake systems designed to operate on very simple principles with a minimum of parts and maintenance. Since 1968, all vehicles are also equipped with dual brake systems to ensure that if one set of brakes fails, the other set will still be able to stop your car; and with a dashboard light to warn you if your front or rear brakes fail. Figure 10-1 shows a basic brake system with a power booster, disc brakes on the front wheels, and drum brakes on the rear wheels. Your vehicle may not have power brakes or may have disc or drum brakes all around, but the principle is the same in any case. The following sections take a look at each of the components of a brake system, starting with the first point of contact between you and your brakes and working down the line to the brakes themselves. 180 Part II: What Makes It Go?.
